LARGE MIRAGE are an Australian rock band with their boots planted firmly in the golden soil of rock and have quickly built a reputation for high-voltage, dynamic live shows, with a sound that pairs heavy rock bravado with psych-pop melodies. Think flared jeans, stacked amps, fuzzed out guitars and songs meant to be played loud and that come laden with undeniable ear-candy hooks, intricate bass runs, rich three-part harmonies and lyrics that make us think twice, as we experience awe-inspiring instrumental prowess.

Formed by Kolya Chan in 2020, LARGE MIRAGE are renowned for dynamic performances that excel and extend beyond what we’ve heard over the decades, and their style hints The Beatles, Cream, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Yet, LARGE MIRAGE are fiercely original - they bend genres and defy conventions to deliver an unforgettable repertoire of introspective storytelling and searing guitar work linked by melodies and elusive themes, written by the band’s central songwriter, lead guitarist and vocalist Kolya Chan - his charismatic, flamboyant performances giving rise to the band’s reputation as a high powered, crowd pleasers, and earning them the support slot for AC/DC’s two sold out nights at ACCOR STADIUM, in Olympic Park Sydney, the hometown of both bands.

LARGE MIRAGE are exhilarating live and their style is rare in its class, defined by unique sonic combinations and dramatic contrasts. They have sold out headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne and shared bills with artists such as The Screaming Jets, Amyl & The Sniffers, TISM and Belair Lip Bombs. Versatility sees them transcend from intimate venues to major festival stages, from Woodford Folk Festival (4 shows in 4 days), on to Lost Paradise, Party In The Paddock, the all ages King Street Summer Crawl, and as main draw for Opening Night at uber cool subterranean Pleasure Club in Sydney. They were invited onto the TISM lineup at PICA in Melbourne, and will appear on the iconic lineup of ROCK THE BOAT CRUISE OCTOBER 2026 with some of the greatest artists of all time.

LARGE MIRAGE have released two EPs to date, A Side to Blame (2023) and Wings of Time (2025). Self-produced, their recordings aim to capture the energy of their live shows. They are currently in the studio recording their latest tracks with producer Michael Badger, known for his work with King Gizzard, Amyl & The Sniffers, You Am I, and Full Flower Moon Band. Real music delivered by musicians who’d rather play rock than talk about it, and standing at the front of Australia’s new wave of rock, unafraid of loud riffs, big melodies and dialing up fashion to the future, one flared step at a time. This is rock at its most exciting: restless and alive in the moment.
